For years I have wanted to read this book because whenever people would talk about it, they would mention how it was transformative and really changed their perspective on life. I read an article where Oprah said that when people came to her house she would give them a copy of the book because it was so life changing.
The premise of the book is that we need to live in the NOW. Stop living in the past or looking to the future for salvation and begin to live in the NOW.
The point of the book is that NOW is all you have and that our focus should be on BEING rather than looking outside for fulfillment.
Some Personal A-ha Moments
I started thinking about my own Fitness Journey while reading this book because I was one of the people who thought, “If I do this, THEN I will ______”. As I learned in my Eating Psychology Workshops, all of this “When I lose weight I can have this type of life” is nonsense. You can have all of that NOW. You don;t have to wait to start living. You MUST live in the NOW because it’s all we have.
I think this book is a MUST READ if you feel STUCK in your life or like you’re making the same mistakes over and over again. I am about promoting a Healthy Holistic LIFESTYLE. For me personal development and growth is ESSENTIAL for a Fiercely Fit and High Performance Lifestyle.
As my mentor Todd Durkin says, “YOU MUST GET YOUR MIND RIGHT” If your mindset is wrong, then you will not be successful. I don’t care who is doing your diet and how much exercise you do. You will not have the mind to sustain success.
