Quick hit:  Some of my clothes that weren’t fitting are now fitting so something is happening.

I love the fact that I am eating more plant based just by virtue of the menu plan.  Sometimes I only eat one meal with meat and I feel fine.

I was a little low energy this past week and later on I found out why:  I was expecting my cycle.  You should train differently when you, “surf the crimson wave” as Cher said in Clueless.  I talk about that in this blog post

I did find out why I was suffering so badly on my menstrual cycle and it is so important that we pay attention to our menstrual cycles.  It’s an important metric of our health.

BTW I missed Nardia at the Nor Cal Fitness Summit but I went to the social and got a chance to talk to her!

Her presentation at IDEA PT West about how we train women was a game changer for me.  Women are not small men with breasts.  We have to be mindful of our bodies hormonal cycles and train accordingly.

When I get my cycle I tend to focus on a little more easy cardio (It helps me to feel a lot better and my cravings go away) and I decrease my weight poundages.  I also take rest days as necessary.  I woke up Thursday feeling tired and sore so I didn’t train.  Once I realized my cycle started it made sense and I was glad I let it go.

Going on Vacation

I am going on Vacation for Week 8 so I figure I will just do the last week over again when I come back.  I am going on a cruise so I will take fitness classes and while I will not restrict myself, I also don’t feel the sense of going and gorging myself.

Once you give up the restrictive dieting lifestyle, you don’t feel the need to EAT ALL THE THINGS.

I am also planning to take advantage of the onboard fitness classes and also the fitness center because it’s part of my lifestyle and it’s fun to try new things!
