First let’s start off with a confession…
I am doing a Nutrition Challenge right along with my clients (cause I take my own medicine) called the Vegetable Challenge. The goal is to eat 5 Fistfuls of Veggies a day. It’s been almost 2 weeks and I haven’t gotten ONE yes.
There are several reasons for this:
- Not eating Veggies throughout the day but instead trying to eat them all at dinner
- Not preparing Ahead of time
- Letting Foods Go Bad
- Too Lazy and Don’t want to clean, cut, and cook them
I need to do better. Here are my strategies for improving my veggie intake:
- Vegetables as snacks. Front Loading vegetables instead of eating them all at dinner
- Adding a Salad a Day
- Preparing a head of time
- Cleaning and cutting them after i get home from the store.
I will let you know how it goes
Halfway There….
We are halfway through the program and I am really enjoying it. I am enjoying eating a variety of foods that once felt “forbidden” on any kind of fitness plan and I am also enjoying the workouts. Doing different workouts is a MUST not only psychologically but also physiologically. One of the main reasons people do not see improvements in their fitness programs is because they do the same workouts all of the time and they never get out of their comfort zones.
Some Success
Well I wore a pair of pants that I haven’t been able to wear in over a year so that is some success and we are halfway through the challenge!
I think a big success for me is that this doesn’t feel like any kind of diet or exercise program. It honestly feels like a lifestyle and a lot of the food is reminiscent of how I ate before I got all whacked out with the fitness dieting 3 years ago.
I’m also really enjoying the workouts and working up a good sweat without boring cardio sessions but jam packed metabolic workouts! One of the best parts about this program is that the mobility work is already worked into the strength training programs so you’re improving mobility and getting stronger!
I do miss my trainer though…
