It works.

That’s all I have to say.  I am eating great food, doing fun workouts, and I am able to wear jeans I haven’t been able to wear in 2 years.  When I started these pants would not go up over my behind but they are wearable….with room.  Wow.

Did I mention this was after my cruise where there was an abundance of Creme Brulee.

It was.

So why has this program been so successful?

1. You eat real food

This is a program based around REAL food. You eat REAL and FRESH food. REAL and FRESH food is nutrient dense so you won’t be hungry all of the time.

2. You don’t starve yourself

Starving yourself is counterproductive to losing BODY FAT and it feels so bad that people don’t keep up with it. You’re eating quite a bit of food. Feeding your body what it needs means that you’re less likely to binge to try to satisfy RAVENOUS hunger

3. It’s not based on restriction
Similar to not starving this program is not about restricting. It’s about formulating a nutrition strategy and learning your own eating rhythm. It’s not about what you can “have”. As a matter of fact, for me this opened up new possibilities of what to eat because I still have traces of restriction in my head. It’s why I love doing a lot of these challenges and programs. It helps you to open up your possibilities and helps to liven things up! My new favorites are Cucumber and Red Onion Salad and the Black Bean Soup Recipe!

4. No long and exhausting exercise
The workouts are no more than hour if even that. Long and exhausting exercise gets boring after a while. Also too much exercise without rest leads to the body breaking down with injury. Everyone I talk to who is on one of those “Exercise yourself to death” programs ends up injured sooner or later. Mr. Olympia, Lee Haney said: “STIMULATE DON’T ANNIHILATE”. Most of these extreme programs are all about annihilation which leads to breakdown and frustration with exercise. Plus with the awesome focus on R.A.M.P.

Range of Motion
Activation
Movement Preparation

we are focused on moving better and more efficiently. This gets the most out of the movement and reduces the risk of injury.

5. No focusing on the scale

This is the big one. Because this program focuses on how your clothes fit, there isn’t this constant emotional roller coaster of the scale! As I have consistently taught, doing these crash diets over time just leads to muscle loss and higher body fat over time. It’s why people who diet the most have the highest body fat.

This program works! I am wearing pants that would not go up over my butt at the start of the challenge so it works and you know that I am not religiously following the meal plan because there are some things that I don’t eat too much of or try to avoid (like dairy and/or soy)

I’m continuing on with it for the next couple weeks.

I’ve started adding on cardio to shake things up and improve my conditioning.

I am waiting for Nicole Wilkins’ to do another 40 Day buns n guns challenge. I think it will be fun to do some different workouts!
