Get your mind right for 2020
2020 is off to an eventful start….to say the least.
More than ever it is going to be imperative for people to get their minds right because there’s a lot of noise, chaos, and confusion out in the atmosphere. All of those things lead to stress which is terrible for physical, mental, and emotional health.
Getting your mind right does not mean living in a state of delusion and denial. It means keeping a healthy perspective during times of uncertainty and when situations are beyond your control.
Here’s my strategy for getting your Mind Right
Count your wins from the last 6 months and take stock of your best practices.
What were 3 Major Wins from the past 6 months
Why were those your major wins?
How did you get those wins done?
What are some of your Best Practices?
Start with the Positive and then look for Areas of Opportunity
What were 3 of your biggest lessons from the last 6 months?
What were some of your epic fails?
What did you learn from those fails?
Don’t be afraid of the Word FAIL I believe we need to take the stigma away from failure. Everyone fails and in order to be successful you’re going to have to run the risk of failure. Failing is often what propels us forward.
What were some of your WORST practices from the past 6 months
How can you upgrade moving forward.
By doing this exercise, you will realize that you have accomplished way more than you thought and even the failures contained important lessons that will move you forward.

Every year I choose a word or a theme for the year that becomes my focus.
My Theme for this year is:
Clarity and Fulfillment
This is a very personal theme for me because In a world of chaos and confusion, clarity is a gift. For the last several years I have been planting, nurturing, cultivating, and building so I believe that this is the time of fulfillment..
One of my strategies for attaining clarity is to log off of social media. Social media can be so distracting and filled with projection When I want clarity, I tune out the distractions and noise.

I made the decision that one of my goals for 2020 was overhauling my website and turn it into a lifestyle blog.
Not because I want to monetize it
Not because I’m trying to get clients from it
I’m doing it because I enjoy writing and I want to do it.
Many gurus would disagree with my choice but guess what? I really don’t care. I’ve come to realize that what’s right for me and my endeavors isn’t in alignment with what most gurus teach because their primary goal is to sell programs.
I have learned to move on from people, places, and things that are not in alignment with my values and lifestyle.
On one of the online forums I visit, a woman also shared that she had a blog but stopped doing it because she got burned out trying to monetize it. She realized that wasn’t actually what she wanted. It turns out she didn’t want to monetize it as much as she enjoyed sharing tips and stories.
I would be willing to bet that this woman will get more opportunities to monetize her blog once she just goes back to focusing on blogging for the joy of it rather than forcing monetization.

When I received a shocking text message about the death of Kobe Bryant and the subsequent alert confirming that he had been killed in a helicopter crash along with his 13 year old daughter and 7 other people, I was stunned.
What’s the point of all of our Goal Setting, Roadmaps, and the rest of it?
It’s to make Life Count
Like so many other public figures who have tragically left us at a young age, Kobe made a tremendous impact during his life.
Kobe Bryant’s impact was not just limited to his legendary basketball achievements. His impact was due to his tenacity, incredible work ethic, mindset, and of course his most important role as a husband/father
Every Day of Life is a Gift.
This week be grateful for this life you have been given and be intentional about Making Life Count.
This week I encourage you to:
Write down 3 Things you are grateful for every single day.
Spend time with those whom you enJOY
Think about 1-2 things you’d really like to do this year. Maybe there’s an event you’ve always wanted to attend. Make plans to do so this year.
What can you stop wasting Time and Money on? You’re probably afraid to say No to people but the truth is…it probably won’t make a bit of difference in the Long Run.
Renewal can begin any time. You don’t have to wait for the New Year
I wrote this at the beginning of the Year because that is the time of year when people become motivated toward fresh starts and renewal but you don’t have to wait for the New Year to Start Strong.
You can start strong in March, May, or whenever you want.
It’s about Getting Started with the Right Mindset
We’re at a point in history when much is uncertain. One group wants to cling to the past without regard for a changing world, another group wants to bulldoze toward a future we have not yet prepared ourselves for.
We must be prepared to change course quickly and be prepared for resets that will require adaptability and the ability to START STRONG.
