Plan Your Month and Your Year

I use a Wall Calendar which provides an overview of the Year-At-A-Glance. Use the calendar to remind yourself of when large bills/major payments are due. Place major events on the calendar that you would like to attend. Plan ahead so you don’t have to play catch up and also so you can develop a strategy to get things done.

Plan your day

I love The Best Self Journal and I also have a planner that was made specifically for Fitness Professionals call Rise and Shine Journal.  I use the Best Self Journal to even write down what I am going to make for dinner!! It’s truly invaluable

Google Calendar is my right hand woman

Having a Schedule is critical and since most of us are on our phones a lot during the day, I recommend using Google calendar to stay on top of things. If it’s not in my calendar, then there’s a high chance I will forget about it.

Put your phone on Airplane Mode when you’re in the middle of a crucial project and before you go to sleep

We don’t need to respond to every single thing. There are so many distractions around and if you want to be productive, then you need to be focused. Place your phone on Airplane Mode and realize how much you DON’T miss out on.

Schedule Rest and Time Off (if it’s not natural for you to do so)

Last year I took more time off than I have in a long time and financially I also had my best year ever. I don’t believe that was a coincidence. This year I am intentionally taking even more time off. That opportunity to rest and recharge helps you to come back even stronger.  I’m even intentional about doing this during the week. There are times that I have purposely blocked off that are for me and my personal time.  My time is valuable and so am I.

Say No and Don’t Be a Martyr

We can’t be everywhere and we can’t do everything.  We have to decide what our priorities are and go from there.  There’s nothing wrong with drawing boundaries and Saying No. I know people who will say No to extra meetings and such at work because it infringes on their workout times.  I think that is a great example of setting priorities. Health/Wellness management is a priority for them so they honor that priority and they honor themselves.

Some Questions to Ask

  • How do you manage your time?
  • What tools do you use?  What works best for you?
  • How much time do you spend on social media or on your phone (Apple is so great that they actually track this for you?)
  • What does your next Quarter look like?  What does the next six months look like?
  • How many vacations do you want to take this year?
  • Have you planned your time off for this year?
  • What are some distractions that are costing you time and money?
