Women We Love: Kristin Armstrong

Kristin Armstrong has won her 3rd Consecutive Gold Medal in Cycling.

(She is NOT related to Lance Armstrong)

Just one day before her 43rd birthday, Armstrong is the oldest woman to ever win a cycling Gold Medal.

Coming out of retirement…

After a 3 year retirement, Armstrong came back to cycling in 2015. Kristin Armstrong began her career as a professional triathlete but had to switch sports due to osteoarthritis in her hips.

Kristin Armstrong is a Gold Medal Mama to her 5 year old son Lucas. Just 22 months after Lucas was born, Armstrong won the Gold Medal in Cycling at the 2012 London Olympics as shown above. That was SUPPOSED to be her last race but Armstrong changed her mind.

Armstrong says that her son, “Refocused her”. She realized that she had to get her training in by 9 a.m. or else it just wouldn’t get done.
