Alignment

the proper positioning or state of adjustment of parts (as of a mechanical or electronic device) in relation to each other

I am out of alignment with the lifestyle my authentic self desires. It’s why every day feels like self-betrayal. I settled for this life, and I know it every day because I am capable of so much more.

This truth threatened to cripple me this summer as I thought about how these last ten years (and the last five in particular) have felt like such wasted years. It felt like life had passed me by, and in many ways it has, but it was my fault for making such unwise decisions. Yet, there is no time like the present to get out of line and course-correct.

What’s important to know about alignment is that you don’t wait for conditions to be perfect before aligning your habits with your desired lifestyle. That is the order of how alignment works:

Mind – You get your mind right – Develop the right mindset

Habits – Develop habits in alignment with the right mindset

Lifestyle – The right mindset in alignment with the right habits produces a lifestyle that is in proper alignment

Here are some practical ways that I am getting into alignment in 2026.

  • Get back out into the world. Opportunities aren’t going to come to me.
  • Say Yes, especially when it scares me
  • Adventurous mode: Fun, Humor, and on the hunt for stories
  • Don’t go for the safe option and the short stick. Take risks
  • Be around people that I admire and get inspired again to go for more.
  • Don’t be ashamed or deny what I genuinely want and live accordingly. SAY IT OUT LOUD

Be Outside in 2026

I am going back outside in 2026.

Opportunities are outside. People are outside. Connections are outside.

I haven’t really been outside since 2015, and it is no wonder that my life has felt like it’s been on a downward trajectory since then. I spent the last several years involved in a church, and while I am grateful for the lessons learned, I realize how isolating it became. I lost contact with so many people because I became so consumed with the church.

While on my Christmas break, it became apparent that what has been missing and what needs to return are the people in my life. I miss my friends, I miss meeting new people, and I miss being in groups with charismatic and inspiring people who motivate me to do more. I certainly miss seeing and interacting with attractive men. It’s been drier than the Sahara over here since 2015.

In his 2026 prophetic word, Pastor YPJ of Faith Alive Ministries stated the following.

“Love is in the air, but the fresh air is outside!” – Pastor YPJ.

Exactly.

The fresh air is outside in the world. Being in the same environment, with the same people, and the same stale air is not the move in 2026. I do believe love is in the air in 2026, but we need to go outside to experience it. Love could be outside on the other side of the world. Who even knows!

Being outside in the world is where new opportunities, connections, and possibilities are found. These opportunities, connections, and possibilities are not going to ring my doorbell. I don’t see many of my outside ventures here in San Francisco because, frankly, this isn’t my demographic, and I don’t enjoy the city’s demographics or want to hang out with them. The City is no longer fun and is not anywhere I would like to hang out, but this is a big world, and there are plenty of other places outside where they know how to have a good time. I’m going outside with them!

Five-Day Fast

Fasting has many benefits, especially after the holidays, when we indulge in rich foods and Drinks. It’s great for easing digestion, resetting our appetites, and practicing discipline after the free-for-all of the holidays.

Most churches do some form of prayer and fasting ritual at the beginning of the year to help people refocus on God. This is a good spiritual practice, but I don’t want this fast to be on autopilot or be routine. My Fast will be 5 days, and I will only consume liquids until 5 pm. The main point of the fast for me is to get my mind right by journaling, reading, staying off my phone, and gaining positive insights for this upcoming year.

This year feels like it’s got some momentum behind it. I already know that many changes are going to happen. Today I wrote that this year will be a failure if I don’t make any changes and keep doing what I have been doing. I am starting by making changes to my environment, social life, and routines that align with the life I want to live.

This year, I plan to share more adventures, stories, and photos on this blog. Life has been too dry in these last ten years. It’s time for something different.

I’m taking risks in 2026!! Let’s Get It!!
