Murad Vitamin C Line

I like to use this line in the summertime because I believe Vitamin C can help prevent skin damage, especially in the summertime. Yes, I know it doesn’t crack but sun damage can turn it into a California Raisin as well.  This line is especially good for those of us with brown skin who may have hyperpigmentation (dark spots) from breakouts or even ingrown hairs.

I like to use the Cleanser, Serum, and Peel during the summer months especially when I’m going to be out in the sun.

Evian Face Spray

I have been using this since my early 20’s to set my makeup and I keep some in my makeup bag to refresh my face during the summer. I definitely use it to cool off my face when it’s too hot outside but this also works when you’re traveling.  Use it on the airplane when the air is dry and use it if you’re in a hot and dry place like Vegas.  Your skin will thank you for it!

Body Care

Winter Time Skin Care

I am Black if you haven’t noticed and when our skin gets dry it’s quite noticeable.

Everyone’s skin is drier in the winter due to the lack of moisture in the air.  A few years ago I found myself so itchy during the winter and it was all due to dry skin.

Some of my cold-weather skincare must-haves are

  • L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil
  • Oil of Olay Ultra Rich Moisture Body Wash
  • Carmex Lip Balm
  • Burt’s Bees Lip Balm with Honey
  • Nivea or Other Thicker Body Lotion
  • Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliation Cleanser
  • Rosehip Oil (Awesome Facial Moisturizer)

Schick Hydro Silk Razors

I don’t know if this keeps the skin hydrated or not BUT I will say that there isn’t as much skin irritation. I keep wanting to try waxing for legs and underarms but haven’t gotten up the nerve yet so I’ll stick with these razors for the time being.

L’Occitane Shea Fabulous Oil, $48

I don’t need as heavy of oil in the spring for dry skin as I do in the winter so I’ve found this Shea Oil from L’Occitane oil does the trick. The best part about this oil is that you don’t need much to make a difference.  It may seem pricey but it lasts a long time.

A little shea oil after a shower and before my regular body lotion works wonders for Dry Skin.

Dr. Teal’s Euclayptus Body Oil (Drug Store brand)

Love this oil because it smells so good and it’s not as heavy as other oils.  It’s great for keeping skin moisturized during the summertime.
