When we set goals, coaches tend to emphasize the outcome which is understandable because if you weren’t looking at outcomes, then what would be the point?
However I don’t think that’s how you ACTUALLY get results.
You get results by becoming who you need to be in order to get those results.
It’s all about the growth you experience from getting to Point A to B. It’s about the process and how much you learn and grow from it.
I share more about this in a video that will be posted on my Instagram and Facebook this week.
Who do I need to become in order to achieve my goals:
Focused
For the last few months I’ve gotten distracted with foolishness and stuff that doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.
What’s pretty funny is that yesterday a lady I barely know came up to me and told me that today is the day I need to let it go. I’ve been feeling stuck but today is the day to LET IT GO.
Noted.
Vulnerable
This is important because our heads can get clogged with a lot of negative self talk. I’ve found that since I started sharing this with TRUSTED sources, I’ve felt much more supported and once I got it out of my head and into the open it doesn’t sound as scary as I thought. I can also see where I blew the whole thing out of proportion.
Vulnerability also blows the roof off of shame. Since talking about my sore spots, I don’t feel nearly as ashamed about it as I once did because guess what? Other people have those same sore spots and can help encourage you off the ledge as a dear friend did for me a few weeks ago.
Patient
Admittedly I am not the most patient person ever. I like everything to happen yesterday and I want to be in action to get it done.
I hate waiting and I hate when things drag on.
I’m learning that to have anything truly excellent and sustainable, then you must have patience and play the tape until the end.
My personal theme for this Fall PUSH is: Acceleration
What about you? Who do you need to become to make your goals happen?
