It’s officially Spring!

That means it is time for Spring Training and I’ve decided on the Nicole Wilkins Buns N Guns Challenge!! Woohoo!!

Can I say that I have been wanting to do this challenge since 2017? Since Nicole switches things up with her challenges, it was not offered in 2018 so…I finally get to do this challenge!! Woohoo!! The focus is on glute and arm training…I’m ready!!

Nicole’s Programs are ALWAYS challenging for me and as a trainer I need to practice what I preach to my clients: Challenge yourself!

Here are my main reasons for doing these challenges:

  • Gives me a Structured program to follow
  • Keeps me showing up even when I don’t want to or it gets hard
  • Gets me out of my comfort zone so that I grow as a Trainer and Trainee
  • Gives me new ideas for my client workouts as well as my own.

Wanna know something funny? So to end our STRONG unit, I had decided to institute an 8×8 Challenge for my clients on the last week of the month. It’s an old school technique where trainees do 8 sets of 8 reps with :30 second pauses.

Nicole showed a preview of the Buns N Guns Program. Guess what was on there? Yep…8×8 training. I think we all read the same article which is great because We’re on the same page.

My Goals are to complete the challenge and also get on a structured training regimen. I’ve increased my food to support my training program and my intuition is telling me that I’m in a cycle where my body wants more food/more training.

One of the things I did take away from my failed Figure competitor days and exposure to aesthetic training is the cycling that happens with nutrition/workouts.

I’m excited to do another challenge and get back into training splits (Training different muscle groups on different days).

Let the Spring Training commence!!
