In the Home Stretch!!
What’s so different about my approach to fitness now is that I am focused on the Growth and Development I gain from each program, rather than the amount of weight or inches lost.
What I have gained from this program
- Gotten into a disciplined early morning exercise routine 2 days per week (I’m at the gym by 5:30 for Sprint Class on Tuesdays and Cardio on Thursdays!) This has totally improved my time management, energy levels, and I really enjoy it.
- Improved conditioning: The High Intensity Interval Training has helped me to improve my cardio conditioning. I want to continue to improve this aspect of my training
- Great Heavy Strength Training workouts in the First 4 weeks that were very challenging and got me back in that space and then great high rep training during the last 4 weeks using tools like resistance bands!
- Some awesome new Workout Routines like Cardio Acceleration training.
- Incorporated Resistance Bands back into my workout!
You noticed I didn’t mention anything about cosmetic goals because honestly I wasn’t focused on that because I have spent the past 20 years or so doing this and that program focused on cosmetic changes and it was always a letdown no matter what happened.
If I lost weight, then it was good for a while….but then it wasn’t enough.
If I didn’t lose weight, then it was a failure.
I approach training differently now. My focus now is completing program and the growth that comes from completing programs. If there are cosmetic changes, then great but it’s not my focus which is why this has been so enjoyable (along with the challenging workouts)
I have never gotten to the cardio goal but I am doing MORE than I was before (a 5:30 a.m. HIIT Cycle class to boot) and I am proud of that!
Next week is the Final Week!
I’ll be sharing my wins and also what’s next!
