I love getting new clients! One of the most exciting parts of working with new clients is how something that was so hard and not the best on our first sessions suddenly becomes easy and textbook.
I was explaining to one of my newer clients recently that you shouldn’t be able to nail your new programs perfectly the first time through.
As I told her, I’m doing a program now and I can’t do everything that is listed. I have to grow into it which is how I know it’s challenging…and good for me
There should be some challenges with it and you should be finding moves that you may need to “Grow into” or if you’ve started a nutrition program, then there should be some “growing pains”.
Why?
Growing pains indicate GROWTH which is the whole point of these programs. If you focus on showing up and what you’re learning about yourself, then I guarantee you will have a more successful outcome.
Why do you think sports teams are constantly “practicing”. They have to grow into their playbooks before they get to mastery and optimal performance.
New programs and new endeavors are no different. Rigid and Fixed Mindset people believe that you have to be perfect and inflexible when it comes to programs and if you aren’t, then you’re a “failure”.
They are hyper focused on outcomes rather than growth which will lead to poor results because inevitably they will not be “perfect” so what’s the use before starting the next new thing.
So GROW INTO YOUR PROGRAM whether it’s to improve your fitness or nutrition.
