Lilly King is not afraid to speak her mind.

While watching the Swimming semifinals one of the big stories was that one of the Russian swimmers, Yuliya Efimova had tested positive for banned substances but was still allowed to compete in the games.  After she won her qualifying heat Efimova put up her index finger signaling she was #1 and United States swimmer Lilly King could be seen in the warm-up room shaking her finger, No.

When asked about it after her semifinal (which she also won), King said: I am not a fan.

The next day she did not back down for her statements and said that she didn’t think people who used banned substances should be allowed to compete in the games.

How you like me now???

Well Lilly King put her money where her mouth was and she ended up BEATING Yuliya Efimova for the Gold in the 100M breast stroke!!!  Not only did she win the race but she also set an Olympic Record and the United States won the Gold for the first time in 16 years.  BOOM!  How you like me now!!

After her victory she stayed firm in her convictions

“I’m proud to be competing clean and doing what is right,” King said after the race. “But I need to respect the IOC’s decision”

When she was asked about other athlete’s who have tested positive for banned substances, she maintained her position.

“Do I think somebody who has been caught for doping should be on the team? No, I don’t.”

Bravo Lilly!!! Continue to excel in your sport, do what’s right, and SPEAK OUT!!! I LOVE IT!!! She has not backed down from her stance and guess what?  She’s backed up her talk in the pool!! This is the definition of a FIERCE WOMAN!!!   SHUT IT DOWN GIRL!!
